A Compelling Read
My friend Peter Rosenberger is husband and long-time caregiver to his disabled wife, Gracie. He has a special interest in helping other caregivers navigate the difficult, tiring, and confusing issues that often confront people who give long-term care. Such as, “What if your medically-fragile spouse qualifies for physician-assisted suicide? And what if he or she is unable to administer the lethal prescription by themselves? Who helps give the lethal drug?!”
Sadly, the duty to administer the death-dealing drug is not the physician but often falls into the hands of the caregiver. What an awful burden to place on a caregiver! Peter writes a compelling article that shames those who ignore the painful family dynamics surrounding assisted suicide – give it a read and share it with your Facebook friends who are caregivers!
