Santa and PhilipToday we want to congratulate our winners in the Kids’ Corner Christmas Contest.

Philip who is 5 years old won in the Age 7 and Under category:

“My favorite Christmas song is ‘Gloria’ (‘Angels We Have Heard on High’). It has a sweet tune when lots of voices sing it. It is fun to sing in other languages like Latin. I learned that “Gloria in excelsis Deo” means “Glory to God in the highest!” I sing this song with my friends at Team Kid in church. We are going to sing it Sunday for our musical. I get to play a shepherd. I like to pretend I am in the field hearing the angel tell about Jesus being born.”

Zara has our winning entry for Ages 8-11:

“My favorite memory is the time I saw my sister and brother after I hadn’t seen them in a long time.”

—Zara

And Rebecca in the category for Ages 12 and Up wrote:

“When I was ten I got a big teddy bear for Christmas from my aunt. At first, I was disappointed because I thought I was too old for teddy bears. Plus, the teddy bear wasn’t even new! I was so ashamed at my ungrateful attitude that I decided to prove to myself that it was a good gift for me after all. I never slept with dolls or stuffed animals before, but that night I brought the teddy bear to bed with me and kept it near me all night long. I realized I really did like having a teddy bear because I’ve slept with it every night since then! It ended up being one of the best Christmas presents I’ve ever gotten.”
