A Gift from Chris

Trying to think up a gift for your mom? Chris had a pretty cool gift, and it wasn’t even Mothers’ Day! Chris lives in heaven now, but a few years ago Chris and his mom were looking for stickers to put with pictures from summer camp. They looked everywhere in the store, but they couldn’t find any stickers of kids in wheelchairs, like Chris. Chris and his mom were disappointed, but soon his mom decided to draw pictures of Chris and make stickers with the pictures. He loved that idea! Even though Chris couldn’t use his hands to draw, he took every art class he could. Everything he learned in class he brought home and taught his mom. He helped her get really good at drawing her “Popping Wheelies” stickers. Soon they had all sorts of stickers of kids with disabilities. So many stickers, they just had to share them! Chris and his mom have given lots and lots of stickers to Joni and Friends Kids’ Corner over the years. Maybe you’ve even gotten some before! Chris isn’t here on earth to give his mom gifts anymore, but his drawing tips and sticker ideas are still a really cool gift to his mom… and to other kids!
