Bringing Hope and Mobility to Ugandan Children
Can you imagine what it would be like to not be able to go to school and be outcast by your community? This is the world in which Francis Mugwanya grew up as a boy paralyzed by polio. In his home country of Uganda, 90% of children with disabilities are not able to go to school because they do not have a mobility device such as a wheelchair, walker, or pair of crutches. As a child, Francis depended on his brother to ride him on a bicycle to and from school. It wasn’t until he was 11-years-old that Francis received his first wheelchair from an organization that serves people with disabilities.
Today, Francis and his family give back, serving Ugandans with disabilities in the name of Jesus. We are proud to partner with Francis’ ministry, “Father’s Heart Mobility Ministry,” and together reach the people of Uganda. It’s why we invite you to watch a video of Francis and Joni as they talk about the great need in developing countries and how you can make a difference.
