The Book of Acts

This month of Bible reading with Joni and Ken has us reading Acts. Reading the book of Acts can be exciting. So many amazing things happen. There seems to be a lot of mystery in the stories and a lot of miracles. How does it all happen? The answer, we’re told, is by the Holy Spirit. When Jesus returned to heaven, the Holy Spirit came to help and comfort us. When we read these amazing stories, we can wonder if the Holy Spirit works in the same way today. People have different answers to that question, but there is one thing we can know for sure. Galatians 5:22-23 says, “But the fruit the Holy Spirit produces is love, joy and peace. It is being patient, kind and good. It is being faithful and gentle and having control of oneself” (NIrV). As you read the rest of Acts, look to see how this verse is true in the stories told.
