3 Ways You Can Pray for Ukraine

Where there is war, people with disabilities are often forgotten and abandoned.

Recent estimates suggest that there are at least 2.6 million people with disabilities living in Ukraine. The plight these people face is dire and urgent.

While Ukrainians take cover in bomb shelters and subway stations, people with disabilities can get left behind. Joni and Friends partners are helping to provide transportation, care, and critical supplies for Ukraine’s disability community.

As Galyna, one Joni and Friends partner in Ukraine said, “It’s very important that the people from the church do not forget those who have disabilities, and their needs, because they are the most vulnerable.”

Peace and Safety

• Pray for God’s Kingdom to come and will to be done in Ukraine…Jesus would be lifted high
• Peace and safety for all Ukrainians from bombings, raids, and other attacks
• Protection over Ukrainian soldiers and their families
• Quick and sudden end to the war and withdrawal of Russian troops
• Repentance and Salvation for the Russians who are attacking

Current Needs

• Food, resources, and supplies for all Ukrainians
• Special protection for the weak, disabled, and vulnerable
• Caregiving for orphans, elderly and homeless that may not be as available
• Communication systems, hospitals, and infrastructure (fire, police) to remain operable
• Warmth, health, and medicines for those who are sick and in need of treatment

Evacuation Efforts

• Strength, endurance, and safety for Galyna and all serving alongside her
• Strength, endurance, and safety for evacuees and partners in Poland and other countries
• Paperwork and documentation to be expedited and approved in every situation
• Divine protection in traveling to and from the border
• Favor with border patrol as evacuees cross over into Poland and/or other countries

“People with disabilities, I know they will need not only hygiene kits,” said Galyna. “They will need food baskets, they will need shelter if their houses are destroyed. So they will need a lot of things. A lot of things. Please, keep praying for us! Only then do we have a chance to survive and endure no matter what.”

Your solidarity with the people of Ukraine, through prayer and partnership, is making a difference. When Galyna spoke to Joni from her basement, she said, “Right now, I’m wearing the Joni and Friends t-shirt. And you know, right now, it’s even important to feel physically that there are people who love you, who take care of you, and who keep praying for you.”

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
