Marky’s Story

I’m always inspired by people who courageously face insurmountable odds, but when it is a child, that really ‘ups’ the inspiration. It’s how I felt when I saw Marky’s video. This young boy has a condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare connective tissue disorder that affects the skin. People normally have seven layers of skin, but Marky only has one, extremely fragile layer. His skin is constantly blistering and tearing from even the slightest friction. It’s very painful. There is no cure and no treatment for EB.

But Marky has incredible wisdom for a child. He knows he’s in a battle for his life, and he tells his parents that God didn’t just breathe life into him in the beginning, God breathes life into him every day. So be inspired by this remarkable kid’s testimony. Then share it with your friends, especially those are wrestling with a physical pain or hardship. Marky’s faith is sure to bolster theirs.
