Jesus Upholds Everything

“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.”

Hebrews 1:3

Hebrews 1 verse 3 makes an astounding claim.  It says that “[Jesus] is the radiance of the glory of God and (get this), he upholds the universe by the word of his power.” 

Like, right now, this instant, Jesus is keeping the stars, sun, and all the galaxies in place; he’s making sure the molecules that make up mountains, birds, and beasts don’t disintegrate, don’t go spinning off. 

And if that weren’t enough, even as he was being crucified, Jesus was holding together the very muscles, sinews, tendons, and nerves in the hands of those brutal soldiers who drove in the nails.

Jesus “willed” that his executioners keep living. That is astounding!  What mercy! And he went through all that… to prove his love to you and me. What an insight into your astounding Savior!
