Chicago Area Team

Area Teams provide meaningful opportunities for you to partner with Joni and Friends in making a year-round impact for families living with disability. By joining an Area Team, you will bring hope to people with disabilities in your community and beyond, working toward a world where every person with a disability finds hope, dignity, and their place in the body of Christ.

As a member of an Area Team, you will work closely with Joni and Friends staff and serve in one of five areas: prayer, outreach, engagement, development, or international support.

Ways You Can Serve

Serving with the Prayer Team, you will faithfully bring individual, area, and global Joni and Friends praises and prayer requests before the Lord. Partnering with Joni and Friends staff and fellow Area Team members, you will make a powerful difference, bringing hands-on help and Gospel hope to people living with disability.

As a member of the Outreach Team, you will support Joni and Friends events like Family Retreat, Warrior Getaway, and Marriage Getaway. Partnering year-round with Joni and Friends staff and fellow Area Team members, you will bring hands-on help and Gospel hope to people living with disability.

As part of the Engagement Team, you will help identify, equip, and offer resources to church leaders and like-minded organizations. Partnering year-round with Joni and Friends staff and fellow Area Team members you will bring hands-on help and Gospel hope to people living with disability.

As a member of the Development Team, you will serve year-round to raise disability awareness and invite others to invest in and expand the ministry of Joni and Friends. On this team, you will partner with Joni and Friends to support our mission to glorify God as we communicate the Gospel and mobilize the global church to evangelize, disciple, and serve people living with disability.

On the International Team, you will support Joni and Friends international outreaches, including Wheels for the World®, Joni’s House programs, International Family Retreats, and wheelchair collection. Partnering with Joni and Friends staff and fellow Area Team members you will bring hands-on help and Gospel hope to people living with disability.
