Specific roles include:
- Team Leader: oversees team development, fosters positive team dynamics, ensures faithful financial stewardship, and facilitates the successful achievement of outreach outcomes in collaboration with Joni and Friends, in-country partners, and the outreach team.
- Disability Specialist: typically an occupational therapist, physical therapist, registered nurse, speech and language pathologist, special education teacher, or behavior therapist.
- Program Trainer: train local volunteers to be a buddy to someone with special needs.
- Support Volunteer: fills various roles based on their unique skillset that may involve facilitating small groups, leading activities, administration, providing interpretation, and/or serving as an emcee.
- Photographer: document the Retreat through photos.
