Every team member will directly impact people living with disabilities in a life-changing way.
What to know about the Dominican Republic
The second largest nation in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic shares the beautiful island of Hispaniola with its neighbor, Haiti. Although Spanish is the official language in Dominican Republic, English is widely spoken. Appearance and image are very important to the vibrant Dominican people and serve as indicators of success and social class. Family members often hide relatives with disabilities in their homes to avoid judgement from their community. As we provide the hope of the Gospel and mobility to the people of the Dominican Republic, it is our prayer that many would obtain freedom – both physically in their communities, and most importantly, freedom through salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.
