Volunteer at Joni and Friends Family Retreat — Oaks Christian
June 6, 2026 - June 12, 2026
Oaks Christian High School students participating in our Joni and Friends Family Retreat as volunteers will serve as buddies to individuals living with disability, taking part in a variety of accessible activities. Every volunteer will have opportunities to use their gifts and skillsets to serve families navigating disability, bringing them rest and joy, all in the name of Jesus. All you need is a heart for the disability community and a desire to serve!
Participating Oaks Christian students are offered year-round training in disability ministry through the Joni and Friends Club at your school. The club offers practical hands-on training through the events listed below. Participation in the club is optional for students planning to volunteer at Family Retreat.
“The experiences I received through family retreat have given me confidence to connect with individuals who have a disability to better understand who they are, their specific needs, and how I can love them well.” – J. C., intern
