This event provides parents and caregivers time to enjoy a break while offering interns valuable experience in caring for people with disabilities.

Half-Day Respite is a unique opportunity to let God use your time, hands, and heart to make an eternal difference in the life of a child with a disability. In preparation for the event, students will help plan activities (including Bible story, music, crafts, games, movies). On the day of the event, each student will be paired as a 1:1 buddy to serve a child living with a disability, or to host a station. Interns will spend 3 consecutive hours on Saturday, August 1, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM CST with the child at a local church within clinical range of UNW nursing campus, providing respite for the child’s family.
