International Family Retreat offers help and hope to families living with disabilities around the world. Alongside local partners and churches, Joni and Friends helps families find hope, dignity, and their place in the body of Christ!

Apply to volunteer at this International Family Retreat in Uganda to serve families living with disabilities, offering respite, hands-on help, and the hope of the Gospel.

Volunteer Opportunities:

There are plenty of roles for volunteers regardless of previous experience working or volunteering with people with disabilities. Volunteer opportunities include serving through worship, leading arts and crafts or games, leading large group sessions, and more. We are also looking for photographers, journalists, and videographers to capture moments and stories at the retreat.

About Uganda:

Often referred as the Pearl of Africa, Uganda is known for its magnificent landscapes, exceptional wildlife, and diverse people. While most people in Uganda claim a Christian faith, beliefs from animistic tribal religions continue to shape Ugandan culture and influence perceptions of disability, especially in rural areas. People with a physical disability in Uganda sometimes face discrimination. Come join us as we share the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ and provide eternal hope to the people of Uganda.

Cost and Safety Protocols:

The cost for this outreach is all-inclusive; however, any pre-outreach vaccination requirements are the responsibility of each individual traveler. Outreach costs may vary for applicants outside of the 48 contiguous United States. International Family Retreat will adhere to country protocols related to health and safety requirements.
