Global Access Community Event

February 27th, 2025
9:00 AM – 11:45 AM Pacific Standard Time

Joni and Friends is happy to continue the Global Access Community in 2025 to connect as a worldwide community passionate about ensuring that all people can serve God through their spiritual gifting.

Disability and Life Stages

Our children are a precious gift from God and the life we pour into them in the early stages can make all the difference in both their lives and the lives of others. What happens when disability touches those early days when parents, caregivers, and the church community are unsure of what is best? We invite you to join our keynote speaker and panel of experts to give guidance through the joys and difficulties of disability in the early stages of life.

Keynote Speaker with Q&A

Matthew Mooney Headshot

Matthew Mooney

When Matthew Mooney and his wife Ginny were 30 weeks pregnant with their first child, they received a diagnosis of Trisomy 18. Their son, Eliot, lived for 99 days and Matt chronicled his life through a blog that would be the beginnings of A Story Unfinished – a book written by Matt about Eliot’s life and the lessons God taught them through their son. Eliot’s story has since been shared with the world through a short video that has been featured on The Today Show as well as The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Matt and Ginny founded 99 Balloons, an organization working with persons experiencing disability locally and globally. The organization grew from a small respite night called rEcess that the Mooneys started in their community. Today, rEcess programs have been started in over 50 locations across 13 states in the U.S. as well as sites in Australia and Canada.
