Your Very Great Reward
“After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.’”
Genesis 15:1
I love that we are children of Abraham, and as such, the same covenant promises that were his, are ours. And it’s why I love what God says to Abraham in Genesis 15. The covenant between them is about to be sealed, and God tells Abraham, “Do not be afraid…I am your shield, your very great reward.” What encouraging words from God to you today! First, God wants you to know that he is your shield; he’s your protector and defender, but more than that, he’s your reward.
No, wait; he’s your great reward. No, wait a minute, we’re not done: The Lord is your very great reward. The Bible says that God rewards those who seek him, and Jesus is that glorious prize. If today you’re looking for a blessing that satisfies and delights your heart as nothing else, it’s your Savior, your very great reward.
Chronic Illness and the Church
“Oftentimes the service that is most needed is the ministry of presence without the expectation of a change in circumstances.” How can the church best walk alongside someone living with a chronic illness?
Jennifer Ji-Hye Ko is on the podcast to share about her relationship with the church as she lives with chronic conditions.
