Your Unknown Future

A sky full of fluffy clouds.

“All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Psalm 139:16

Corrie ten Boom was imprisoned in a Nazi death camp during WWII. Her labor was backbreaking, her father and sister had perished in the ovens*, and Corrie wondered if she were next. Life was bleak and horrible, yet she was able to say, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” Corrie knew her God. She knew he was the one who inspired Psalm 139:16: “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” She knew no matter what might happen, life or death, she was convinced God had her best eternal interests at heart, as well as his highest glory. And Corrie wasn’t mistaken. Due to a clerical error, she was miraculously released, and survived to influence millions for Christ. You might be worried about your future. But don’t go there. Because God has your future days in his hand, and it’s all good!

*Correction: Corrie ten Boom’s father (Casper) died soon after his incarceration in Scheveningen Prison, and her sister (Betsie) died from starvation and lack of medical care at Ravensbrück concentration camp. We apologize for the error.
