You Want Mighty

Here at our ministry, we refuse to present an image of “gentle-Jesus-meek-and-mild,” a portrait that tugs at your sentiments and pulls at your heartstrings. Look, Joni and Friends connects with people who suffer, and when you’re suffering hard, you are not helped by a syrupy picture of Jesus surrounded by cherubs and bluebirds. No, when your soul is wounded and your heart is being rung out like a sponge, you want a warrior Jesus. A battlefield Jesus. You don’t want “sweet.” You want mighty. You want conquering. You want the victor over death, disease, and hell. That’s Jesus Christ, the Son of God. You want him, the strong and unshakable grip of God himself… So today, call out to God who will never forsake you or let you go.
