Words Full of Spirit and Life
“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you – they are full of the Spirit and life.”
John 6:63
I’ve being reading through the Bible each year with my husband Ken for 15 years. You might think that after reading God’s Word over and over, it might feel tiresome or redundant, but not so. Whether we are in Jeremiah or Romans, Malachi or the Gospels, I tell myself that I am doing what God wants me to do – I’m feeding my spirit. I’m gaining nourishment for the day.
My inner self is being quickened and renewed, and I am being given heaven-sent energy to live as I should. How do I know all this? Jesus says in John 6, “The words I have spoken to you – they are full of the Spirit and life.” The Word of God is filled with spiritual words that strengthen your spiritual life. Without a diet of Bible reading, my spirit would shrivel and weaken in no time. Do not let it happen to you! Stick to the Word and stay spiritually strong.
