Where Did You Lose Him?

“All night long on my bed I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him”

Song of Songs 3:1

Every follower of Jesus resonates with the Song of Solomon where it describes that heartbreaking moment when you realize you’ve lost the company of Christ. It says, “All night long I looked for the one my heart loves; I looked for him but did not find him.” It’s frightening when that happens. But take heart; you will find Christ wherever it is you lost fellowship with him. Was it in sinning that you lost him? Then find him by giving up that sin.  Did you lose Christ by neglecting the Word? Then find him; get back into the Bible. Did you lose his nearness when you grew tired of prayer? Then find him by dropping to your knees and asking for his help. We can so easily lose the sense of his presence, so go back and look for Christ. If you seek him, he will be found. It’s a promise.
