Trust Him
“The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.”
Isaiah 1:3
When I used to ride, I developed a great relationship with my horse. I groomed and fed her, and because I spent lots of time with her, she was responsive to my commands – especially in a show-jumping competition. We were a great team. Because she knew me, she gladly trusted me. Sadly, though, it’s not always the same with God and his people. Isaiah chapter 1 says, “The ox knows its master, the donkey its owner’s manger, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.”
Even brute beasts – horses included – know that the caring owner who provides for them is worthy of their trust. So today, humble yourself, and be far greater than a donkey, an ox or a horse that submits to its master – make it your ambition to gladly trust the Lord; because he is your Master and has proved himself worthy of your devotion.
