The Sounds of Thanksgiving: Part 7

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”
Psalm 100:1-2
We Gather Together
by Adianus Valerius
translated into English by Theodore Baker
We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known;
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His name, he forgets not His own.
Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning:
The Lord was at our side—the glory be thine!
We all do extol thee, thou leader triumphant,
And pray that thou still our defender wilt be.
Let thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!
Today, friend, let the Holy Spirit open up the eyes of your heart, because there are glories and graces all around you; all of them disguised as everyday blessings; blessings that are oh, so miraculous. A wonderful way to express our thankfulness to God is through songs. What’s your favorite hymn or praise song? Why not play it now and sing your heart out to the Lord? Be confident that He is listening! Download Joni’s Thanksgiving Devotional below and continue reflecting on God’s everyday blessings.
