Zechariah 13:7
Zechariah 13 says, “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.” It’s exactly what happened that night the disciples deserted Jesus. There in the dirt in the olive grove, the Lord groaned in prayer, all alone. But was he?… The bleachers of heaven were filled to capacity, and hell strained its neck to see how his prayer would end. But Jesus accepted his Father’s will. The torches arrived. The sheep fled. And the Shepherd stood to go to his slaughter… Jesus was thinking of you that dreadful night. He remembered you as the whip ripped into his back. He thought of you when the mallet sank spikes into his hands and heels. It means you are no longer a scattered sheep.
