The Gospel For You
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
Colossians 3:2
You’ve heard it said that “we are what we eat,” right? Well, I believe that “we are what we think,” as well. The way we interpret the daily realities facing us shapes who we are. Cowardly thoughts will breed cowardice and timidity. Fearful thoughts produce doubt and insecurity. Who wants to live that way?
I don’t, and it’s why I love these words by Paul David Tripp; he says: “Every day, we are either preaching to ourselves a Gospel that produces fear and timidity, or one that propels us with courage and hope. We are either looking to a God who is distant, passive and uncaring, or a God who is near, caring and active.” Courage breeds courage, my friend, so purpose to frame your thoughts about the day with the Good News. Focus on God’s joy and hope, and you’ll be a lot more joyful and hopeful.
