More Than a Conqueror

If the final score of a basketball game is 142–6, you know the opponent may have put up a fight, but they were hands-down no match for the victors. The win was beyond a regular victory. And ‘this’ is what Romans 8 means when it says you are “more than a conqueror through Christ.” Because when you combat the devil in the power of Jesus, you not only gain victory, you’re overwhelmingly victorious.

You’ve blown Satan out of the water. He may put up a fight, sending all kinds of life-defeating, joy-stealing attacks to threaten your faith, but through Christ, it’s no contest; you are more than a conqueror. But never try to go it alone. Satan is far more deceptive, and smarter than you think. So today if you are battling the devil, claim the victory ‘through’ and only through Jesus Christ.

Joni encourages you to join her in living out Philippians 3:14: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
