Jesus at the Helm

“Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.”

Hebrews 12:12

When I long for someone to comfort me in my pain, I want that person to tell me things that will make me stronger to endure. I want that person comforting me to rally my senses, remind me of things I know to be true, and to spur me onward and upward. Martin Luther could do that. He once said, “If I did not see that the Lord kept watch over the ship, I should long since have abandoned the helm. But I see Him! through the storm, strengthening the tackling, handling the yards, spreading the sails – aye more, commanding the very winds and the sea! Oh, I would be a coward if I abandoned my post. So, let Him carry us forward. We have every reason to trust in our great Savior and we shall fear nothing!” Friend, ‘those’ are words that’ll make you stronger to endure.
