Inquire of the Lord

Oh, do we get into trouble when we start living on cruise control. Like, you know, you’ve seen how God works; you’re familiar with his ways; and so… you stop consulting him. You feel there’s no need to inquire of the Lord on certain matters and decisions. But doing that? Ruins your faith. Like, when Joshua was subduing God’s enemies in the Promised Land?

There were these men from Gibeon who came dressed in tattered clothes, saying they had come from a far land: “Please, Joshua, don’t kill us; make a treaty with us.” Actually, they were next-door neighbors. But Joshua believed them. He thought it not necessary to inquire of God. From then on out, he had nothing but trouble. So, friend, don’t let it happen to you. Don’t cruise… always inquire of the Lord about each and every thing!
