Exchange the Heartbreak
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
1 Corinthians 1:18
When God parted the Red Sea, he told Moses to raise his staff. But after that miracle, Moses referred to that staff as … the staff of God. It was just an ordinary stick of wood, but when the ‘Lord’ chooses something as his tool, it takes on new ownership ‘and’ new meaning. Consider the cross. It ‘was’ a symbol of torture, but Jesus exchanged its meaning, and it now represents hope and salvation. My wheelchair was once a tragic symbol, but now? It’s the very thing that set me free. It’s God’s mark of ownership on me and he has chosen it as his tool. What is the symbol of hardship in your life? God can exchange its heartbreak for something overflowing with hope. If God did it at the cross (and he did), he can do it for you.
