Ever-Present Help
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1
Ever feel as though you are suffering too much? That God (in his compassion) comes to your aid too late? There have been times I have felt that way. But listen to these words by Charles Spurgeon.
He said, “The God of Providence has limited the time, the intensity, the repetition, and the effects of all our illnesses. Each throb is decreed, each sleepless hour predestined, each relapse into sickness ordained, each depression of spirit foreknown, and each sanctifying result eternally purposed. We cannot suffer too much nor be relieved too late.”
Friend, your sovereign God has it all in hand. The Bible says he is your “ever present” help in every trouble. Right now. This minute. Never too much nor too late. Believe that God is for you, even in your worst suffering.
