Do the Next Thing
How do you keep going when you’re hurting? How do you live with pain? Well, someone once said… Just do the next thing. Like, don’t try to wrap your mind around a long season—or a lifetime—of terrible pain; just tackle the next hour, the next night, the next morning. Jesus said, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for one day.”
If pain has got you down (and I know that feeling), join me in doing the next thing. Get out of bed, get off the couch, get out of the house, do the laundry, wash the dishes. Revelation chapter 21 says that soon there will be no more pain, tears, or darkness. So press on as best you can and cast yourself, throw yourself into the arms of Jesus. You can do no more—and you can’t risk doing less.
