Cause Me to Return

Some prayers are risky, but they need to be prayed. Like… if you are trapped in sin and you cannot break free. Or you’ve been away from the Lord, and you wonder if it’s possible to be near him again. Well, there’s a prayer in Lamentations chapter 5, “Cause me to return, O God, and I will return.” Like, “God, I’m so far away from you, I don’t have it in me to return to you; I’m not able to do it; so please, cause me return to you. Do whatever it takes!”

I once prayed that… and this is what it took to make me return to God. Does that seem harsh? Well, I asked God to do it. And I am so glad I did. Look, hey, God doesn’t need to deal harshly; he’s full of grace, love, help and hope. So, yes, there is a way back to God. A simple way. If you are spiritually lost, just look for “the Way,” your Savior, Jesus. He is your way back home.
