About Shauna Amick

Shauna is the Director of Public Relations at Joni and Friends and is blessed to serve as Joni Eareckson Tada’s Radio Co-host. Yet, Shauna’s favorite title is Sarah’s Mom. Shauna’s passion for the inherent worth of every human life was deeply solidified when Sarah was diagnosed with Down syndrome, a near fatal heart defect, and a slew of other genetic abnormalities during Shauna’s fourth month of pregnancy. “Shauna experiences ‘joy in hardship’ every day as she shepherds her disabled daughter, Sarah, through life’s challenges,” says Joni. “Shauna understands suffering from God’s perspective—and her deep, yet joy-filled messages encourage everyone who listens to her remarkable story. I have gained much serving alongside this special friend!” As a speaker, author, and disability rights advocate, Shauna shares the gift of viewing struggles through the lens of God’s Word and does so with incredible transparency and vulnerability. Shauna became part of Joni and Friends 20 years ago as a desperate mother in need of help and hope. She has been a staff member for over 15 years now.
