Jesus Calms the Storm

Have you read the Bible story about Jesus calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee? Can you imagine what it would be like in a little boat with bright flashes of lightning, big booms of thunder, gusty winds, and pounding waves? Pretty scary! The disciples thought it was scary too, and they were fishermen! The storm was too big for them to handle, but it wasn’t too big for Jesus. With one word, He calmed the wind and the waves. Sometimes, when we face hard times, we focus on all that’s going wrong and forget Jesus is in control. This month’s Kids’ Corner theme is “growth and maturity,” and part of growing up and becoming mature in Christ is remembering to trust Jesus whenever times get tough. You have nothing to be afraid of with Jesus by your side, no matter how big the storm!
