Another Heart for the Disabled Family

James and Ruby are an older couple who are raising two sons with disabilities. Paul is severely disabled and needs lots of care, but Joe has Down Syndrome and is fairly high-functioning. At Family Retreat last summer, Joe carried his hymnal everywhere – he’d stop you, no matter where you were heading, open his hymnal and sing you a hymn. And if you mentioned your favorite, he knew its number in the hymnal and would proudly flip to it!
