Let Your Light Shine

A close up of twinkly lights shaped like stars.

“Let your light shine for all the nations to see; for the glory of the Lord is streaming from you.”

Isaiah 60:1

Sometimes chronic pain can cast a shadow over my heart, clouding my perspective and making everything look dark. When that happens, I brighten my outlook with Isaiah 60:1. “Let your light shine for all the nations to see; for the glory of the Lord is streaming from you.” What a powerful incentive to keep looking on the sunny side!

To think that my life can be a stream of God-energized light that blesses and uplifts others! The thought alone makes me want to immediately “fan the flame of God, the inner fire that is within you,” as it says in 2 Timothy. When it comes to the tone for your day, remember: God’s glory is at stake. You can either pull the shade over his image in you, or you can turn up the wattage. Today, let your little light shine and be a mirror for the smile of Jesus to others.
