Renovating Your Life
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I have a friend whose kitchen is in the process of being renovated. Walls and ceilings are ripped out, flooring and wiring and water lines are being replaced – it is not fun! The whole thing reminds me a little of the process of sanctification. Because when we’re sanctified in Christ, it is definitely not a redecorating job on our character. Uh-uh, no; it is big time, full-scale renovation of our character. It’s to be set apart, transformed, changed, completely altered and made into Christ’s image. And that means new wiring in our minds and new plumbing in our hearts. But you and I have a master contractor overseeing the plan! And Ephesians 4 is the blueprint; it says, “Put off your old self…to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” That’s what I call renovating your life.
