Path of Life

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and listen to Psalm 16. It says, “[God], You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Now, I love this verse because it clearly says the Christian life is a path. It’s a path of life. Now, I never realized that before the diving accident in which I became paralyzed. I quickly learned, though, that the path of life has a name: it is the road that leads to Mount Calvary. My wheelchair has taught me that it is the same rocky blood-stained path that Jesus walked when He carried His cross. But that hard, difficult path is still the path of life – abundant life, happy life. For as the verse explains, God’s presence is on that painful path – and His presence always means fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore! That’s good news for you today should you find your path a painful one.
