Joni Eareckson Tada Releases New Devotional, “Keeping Faith When Life Hurts”

AGOURA HILLS, California, May 04, 2026 – When Christian radio broadcaster and disability advocate Joni Eareckson Tada broke her neck in a diving accident at the age of 17, the devastating diagnosis of quadriplegia plunged her into an abyss of depression and despair.
And yet, there in the darkness, God’s marvelous light shined into Joni’s life, giving her the strength to endure.
Now, nearly 60 years later, Joni has tested God’s faithfulness through every imaginable trial: quadriplegia, breast cancer, chronic pain, and personal loss. Through every trial, Christ has been faithful. In “Keeping Faith When Life Hurts: 100 Devotions for Hard Days,” Joni shares her hard-won insights into how to pursue God and find His goodness through life’s most insurmountable hurdles, whether they be grief, betrayal, or a daunting diagnosis.
“Keeping Faith When Life Hurts: 100 Devotions for Hard Days” is available from the Joni and Friends shop, as well as online retailers.

In an age of spiritual ambiguity, Joni speaks with timeless, biblical wisdom as she centers her thoughts around the central themes of the sufficiency of Christ in all circumstances, suffering as an opportunity for spiritual growth, and trusting God in the midst of uncertainty. Instead of running from suffering, Joni reveals how suffering can refine our spirits and draw us closer to our Savior.
“Heartache forces us to embrace God out of desperate, urgent need. God is never closer than when your heart is aching,” Joni said. “True wisdom is found in trusting God when you can’t figure things out.”
