Sunday 2 – Praise God for the volunteers and donors who partner with Joni and Friends to make a year-round impact for families living with disability!
Monday 3 – Families impacted by disability gather for Family Retreats in Arizona, North Carolina, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, and California this week! Ask God to use this time to refresh and restore families. Pray also for volunteers to experience God’s delight in their service.
Tuesday 4 – Our Family Retreats often feature a Visitor’s Day where we welcome pastors, church leaders, and community members. This special day offers an opportunity for guests to witness firsthand how hope can be renewed through friendship, inclusive worship, Bible study, and more. Please pray that visitors attending our Arizona Family Retreat will be inspired to bring the joys of Family Retreat back to their own churches and communities.
Wednesday 5 – Pray for financial provision over those who are struggling to finance the immense costs related to disability that are not covered by insurance, like a wheelchair-accessible van or home modifications.
Thursday 6 – A Wheels for the World team is currently serving in Mongolia. As the team provides mobility equipment, shares the Gospel, and equips churches in disability ministry, pray that each recipient will come to understand God’s deep love and care for them. Also, pray that they will feel embraced by local churches and be encouraged to continue growing in their faith.
Friday 7 – In the Bay Area, friends are gathering for an inclusive park playdate! Pray that families living with disability feel Christ’s welcome and enjoy the shared fun and fellowship.
Saturday 8 – This week, our team in Texas will lead Warrior Getaways for military families living with visible and invisible wounds of war. Pray that each family attending will be encouraged, refreshed, and built up by the biblical teaching, unconditional love, fellowship, and fun.
Sunday 9 – Join us in thanking God for every ministry staff member and volunteer who faithfully plans, serves, hosts, and carries each of our summer events to completion. As this busy season stretches their time and energy, ask God to strengthen each person with renewed joy, wisdom, and endurance. May they be encouraged as they witness the fruit of their labor in the lives of every family, volunteer, and individual they serve for the glory of God.
Monday 10 – Family Retreats are underway in New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Minnesota. Ask God to use these retreats to draw families closer to Himself and into community with other families who understand the unique realities of living life with a disability.
Tuesday 11 – Today in California, we’re hosting our Young Adult Bible Study for adults who live with intellectual disabilities. May the Holy Spirit fill them in a fresh way, inviting them deeper into God’s Word.
Wednesday 12 – Tomorrow in Pennsylvania, men who have a spouse and/or children with disabilities are gathering for a fellowship event! May this event bring needed community and hope to the men who attend.
Thursday 13 – Ask the Lord to equip pastors, church leaders, and ministry participants with a biblical vision for disability ministry. Pray that local churches would be inspired to become places where individuals and families living with disability are welcomed, discipled, and valued as vital members of the body of Christ. “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2, KJV)
Friday 14 – This week, our Wheels for the World team is kicking off a wheelchair distribution in Rwanda. Praise God for the opportunity to provide mobility equipment to those in need across Africa while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Saturday 15 – Today in East St. Louis, caregivers are gathering for a support group. Pray with us that this precious time together is fruitful in connection, encouraging in faith, and reflective of God’s goodness through caregiving.
Sunday 16 – In Phoenix, Joni and Friends Arizona is hosting a Halftime Respite event. As families living with disabilities gather for an afternoon of fun, swimming, and crafts, pray they feel the joy of Christian community.
Monday 17 – Families in New England and Washington state arrive at Family Retreat today. Pray they have a wonderful week of respite and connection, and experience renewed hope in Christ as they live with the daily demands of disability.
Tuesday 18 – Join us as we ask God to continue bringing qualified individuals who love Him to fill our open positions at the ministry.
Wednesday 19 – Tomorrow is National Radio Day! Join us in thanking God for the 44+ years of radio ministry He has gifted Joni and Friends. Pray God continues to use these messages to bring hope to millions of listeners around the world.
Thursday 20 – Pray for the Holy Spirit to work among church leaders visiting our Family Retreat in New England. May God move their churches to become increasingly welcoming to people with disabilities, inviting them to connect, worship, grow, and serve.
Friday 21 – As Wheels for the World outreaches continue, please pray for our volunteers to feel equipped to use their unique gifts and skills to care for individuals and families living with disability.
Saturday 22 – Many adults with chronic illnesses or mental health conditions feel unwelcome in their local church. Ask God to equip His followers to minister to individuals who face overwhelming isolation because of their chronic conditions.
Sunday 23 – Pray for the men and women in leadership at Joni and Friends. Ask God to fill each leader with His wisdom, compassion, and humility as they seek to honor and glorify Him in all they do as they serve at the ministry.
Monday 24 – As families return home from our Family Retreats, pray that each one finds a nearby church willing to welcome the entire family and meet their needs for Christian community and growth.
Tuesday 25 – In Central California, young adults are gathering for Bible study. Pray for the continued fruitfulness of this group and for deep fellowship in the lives of the leaders and participants.
Wednesday 26 – Ask God to bring the team members He is calling to our open positions at the ministry, those who will “spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24). And pray that God gives wisdom and discernment through the interviewing and hiring processes.
Thursday 27 – Our Joni and Friends Ministry Podcast is airing its eighth season. Join us in prayer for these conversations as they build up the church, increase understanding and awareness about disability, and share needed hope from God’s Word.
Friday 28 – The transition into a new school year can be challenging for any family, and disability often adds a layer of complexity. Pray for the Lord’s peace to cover each child returning to school. And may God grant special needs parents endurance and patience as they advocate for their children’s needs in the year to come.
Saturday 29 – Today in Mississippi, families are gathering for a Sensory Respite Day at Camp Kamassa. Pray this event provides caregivers and attendees with a fun break as they enjoy activities, fellowship, and outdoor recreation.
