Pursue God
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
Colossians 3:2
An old Puritan once said that “The worth and excellency of your soul is measured by what it loves.” So… the truth about you, who you really are (at the most basic level) is revealed by the things you deeply desire. If you desire dull, sensual things (swiping, tapping, scrolling Tik-Tok, or binging Netflix), then your soul will reflect that dullness; but if you delight in godly things, then your character will be courageous, noble, and pure. Look, God has created in you a need for pleasure, and since he created it? It makes sense that he ‘is’ the fulfillment of that need. So, when he says, “Love the Lord with all your heart,” he is directing your pleasure-seeking soul where it’ll be happiest. So, elevate yourself today… and pursue God.
