You Need To Be Rescued
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Years ago, I saw a news story on television that has stuck with me. It was a little girl sitting with her daddy on a piling in the San Francisco harbor. They were delighted and fascinated by the seals that others were feeding. And suddenly, a large seal rose out of the water and grabbed the skirt of the child, dragging her under. Immediately, her daddy dove in and snatched his daughter from the teeth of that animal. When I saw this on TV, I was amazed at how quickly the father reacted: immediate, instantaneous, rapid, sudden. Thank God for that. And thank God that he’s the same way when you are in danger. He is nimble and alert; he is rapid and sudden and instant in his response because his love for you is far, far greater than any daddy’s love for his child. The Bible says God is your ever-present help. So, remember that the next time you feel like you are going under.
