You Are God’s Gift
I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I used to ask God, “Lord, why have you chosen me? Why not someone else?” You know, I can’t say why. But God’s purpose in choosing any of us is this: the Father wants to secure for his Son, Jesus, a Bride, an Army, an Inheritance. But the crowning purpose of his Father’s is this: he wants to secure for his Son a grand chorus of Eternal Worshipers. Zechariah chapter 9 says, “They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown. How attractive and beautiful God’s people will be!”
Oh friend, we are the gift that God is fashioning for his Son. We are his Son’s choir. And if this is our destiny, hey, why not we get ready down here on earth?! Let’s praise him, sing to him, bless him, and obey him. Because if we are to be set like jewels in his crown, man, I want to make certain I’m ready to sparkle on his coronation day! And you should sparkle too!
