Wonderfully Divine Purpose
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And when I’m in a difficult or painful season, I’m comforted by Acts 22 where it says, “The God of our fathers has chosen you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from His mouth.” Boy, do I like that. God has chosen us to know His will… see Jesus… and hear His Word. That’s simple, but God has chosen some believers for the “furnace of affliction.” In short, God chooses some to suffer… and suffer greatly. But He knows exactly how much you can handle, and He has a wonderfully divine purpose for your afflictions. There are others He wants to reach through you, and your hardships (like nothing else) will convince skeptics and cynics that He really is worth believing! So today, please surrender to God and His plan for your hardship and watch Him do incredible things through the suffering which He has “chosen” for you.
