Without Fear Of The Future

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada with a Proverbs 31 story. Recently, our church once took an afternoon to celebrate graduating high school seniors. And one of those young people we celebrated was my pastor’s daughter Maggie. Everyone passed around a cute photo of her on her high school graduation day. And on the top of her cap, with a tassel hanging off to the side, Maggie had painted in pink, bold letters, “The woman who fears the Lord is clothed with strength and dignity. She laughs without fear of the future.” Now there’s a courageous kid!

If you’re going to be able to laugh at the future – you know, view the days to come as bright and hopeful – you must possess a healthy fear of the Lord. A fear of the Lord always breeds humility, and it’s the humble person who is convinced that God is completely for him, and not against him. And, friend, today that assures you your future will be bright. I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.
