Wheels in Thailand
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. My friend Mark remembers the time he served as a mechanic on one of our Wheels for the World trips to Thailand. He saw an old, rusty pickup truck stop in front, the driver got out, and he flipped opened the tailgate. And there, huddled against the cab was a young paraplegic, his body all bruised from being bounced around on the long drive down the mountains. This young man’s name was Koi and as he was lifted out of the truck, he showed us other bruises and calluses.
“But those injuries,” he explained, were different; they were from crawling down to the river every day to wash clothes for his family. He’d hold the clothes bag in his teeth as he crawled. Oh, my goodness, imagine his joy when we fit him for a wheelchair and told him about Jesus. His life changed. It happens all the time with Wheels for the World. So, pray about serving with us, would you with Wheels for the World. Visit us at joniandfriends.org.
