Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and Psalm 90 tells us it is very wise to number our days; that is, to see and live each day as precious. Being in this wheelchair has taught me to number my days, and it’s why, when I sit up in my wheelchair each morning, you will often find me praying, “Lord, this is the beginning of a new day. You have given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or use it for good. What I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, not loss; I want to be for good, not evil; in order that I shall not regret the price I paid for it.” Friend, of all the things you might waste today, please do not waste this day God gives you. Live for gain and for God’s good – and you will never regret the price you have paid for it.
