Union With Christ
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and sometimes, in the middle of the night, when I am battling anxiety or weariness; when I am feeling lonely or disjointed, an odd thing happens. I often turn my head on the pillow and I will whisper, “O God, I miss you.” Have you ever felt that way? Like you miss God? When it happens to me, I believe it is my broken heart seeking union with the Lord – not positional union, such as when I was first justified in Christ, but an experiential union that is a warm, deep, passionate melding of my heart with His. Oh, friend, the Bible says, “If we suffer with Him, one day we shall reign with Him.” And it’ll happen in the twinkling of an eye. We’ll be in the embrace of our Savior. So, until then, you will miss the Lord every now and then, but take heart. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you, and your heart cannot help but be melted into His.
