True Overcomers
I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I remember being in Africa some years ago and meeting the most amazing Christians. They welcomed me at the airport in wheelchairs and crutches and said, “Welcome to our country where our God is bigger. And, Joni, he is bigger because we need him more.” Even though those disabled Christians in Africa had so little, they had such joy. John chapter 16 tells us why. Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Friend, that’s the secret to joy. Jesus has made those believers true overcomers. And you can be, too, no matter what your circumstances. Whether you’re in Africa or America, it’s a powerful reality that we can be recipients of God’s overcoming power. So don’t let disabled believers in Africa have all the fun – trust his grace to help you overcome in your life today. It’ll show the world how big your God really is.
