Tracy’s Lesson
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and my friend Tracy is brain injured, cannot speak, and she uses a wheelchair. But her emails to me are always so encouraging. Recently Tracy told me she had to be hospitalized for terrible abdominal pain, and she wrote, “Joni, the Lord reminded me that I was going through what I did not want to go through, just like Jesus went through what he did not want to go through on the cross. But he persevered through terrible suffering, so that we could go through what we do not want to go through and yet do it with faith and confidence in God.” Amazing words from my disabled friend, wouldn’t you agree? Much like Christ, people like Tracy learn obedience through the things that they suffer, and that’s such an example to everyone else.
