The Right Route
I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Suppose you needed directions and your friend gave you a detailed map. You’d set off only to discover that it’s a road full of detours, potholes and puddles. Well, you’d probably be fuming, and be hurt by the fact that your friend knew the road was like that. Well, the Lord gave the Apostle Paul a roadmap. God tells him in Acts 23: “Take courage. As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so shall you testify in Rome.” Great directions, right? Well, for the next two years, Paul journeyed down that road full of life-threatening terror, torture, danger and hunger. Talk about potholes! But Paul never denied his friendship with Christ. He placed his confidence Him and boy, did the Lord use him! By the time Paul arrived in Rome, his ministry was felt far and wide. If today, Jesus has sent you on a difficult road, take it as evidence that you are on the right route.
